By all reports, Tom Tykwer's (director of Run Lola Run) The Princess and the Warrior should be in stores on DVD on January 29th. I haven't seen any press release, however, and am curious about the DVD's official specs. Anyone have any concrete knowledge?

    thanks!

The DVD in Germany was a 2-disc special edition (IIRC). The only information about the R1 DVD so far that it will have a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, German Dolby Digital 5.1, English subtitles, audio commentary, deleted scenes, and the trailer. No word yet on what else the DVD will contain.

    • Director Tom Tykwer, Franka Potente and Benno Furmann Commentary

    • Deleted Scenes
    • Music Video Directed By Tom Tykwer
    • Filmographies
    • Theatrical Trailers

I wonder if the commentaries will be in German or English?

This is a Columbia title iirc, hopefully they won't make the same mistake they did on Crimson Rivers where the commentary in french isn't subtitled!

I'm not sure, but I know that there is already a German commentary by Tom Tykwer recorded for the German DVD. However, the second commentary on the German DVD is by Frank Griebe and Mathilde Bonnefoy. This leads me to believe that the Tykwer/Potente/Furmann commentary was recorded specially for the R1 DVD. But then again, does Furmann speak English? [IMG]
PS: I am so looking forward to the upcoming Heaven, directed by Tom Tykwer, written by Krzysztof Kieslowski (Three Colors Trilogy), and starring Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi!!
