Full screen vs. letterbox option on RV32 (1 Viewer)

I am writing thi sfor a friend who is considering the Pansonic RV32 DVD player. She wants to be able to view widescreen movies in full screen format(I know, I know, I tried to convince ger otherwise). Is this available on all DVD players? I notice that on the Panasonic.com site there is a listing for "4:3 Shrink Function w/ Letterbox Zoom & Shift" . Is this what I am describing? I know some people use ZOOM to accomplish this, but on my 3 yr old JVC model, Zoom will zoom in too much. But then, it's not an issue for me since i prefer widescreen. If someone knows what this feature is called on the RV32 and if it is available.
