Just wondering, were all the Stargate episodes actually shot 1.78:1 or are the DVD's just "cropped" to make them 1.78:1?

Did the producers actually have the foresight to shoot them for future HD broadcast? In that case were the 4:3 broadcasts missing info from the sides or did they have "extra" on the top and bottom?

Yes, I still like the show, but wished they had stayed with their original production values. More beauty booty!
Still I wander about Vaitiare Bandera. Did they tell her she would be the only person to show all? or did they tell her she would be the first of many?

The original Showtime episodes were cropped ... until the last season or so when they showed them in w/s in the HD channel.

These are real 16:9 episodes.
