Looked around locally and didn't see anyone carrying it (had the same problem when buying the VHS- places like Best Buy had the albums but not the movie). I will try some of the mega-bookstores later and see if I can grad one.
If not, I guess I'll just call amy at dischord and order one!

Do you want SOUTH PARK on DVD in order, rather than themed sets? Join our overwhelming majority!!

I was hoping either Media Play or Best Buy would have it as Im pretty sure looking at Circuit City and the ____Mart stores would be a waste of time.

DVD Empire emailed me saying it was moved to 11-20-01. Dissapointed, since I'd been looking forward to owning it on DVD. Their new album is great, too.

Thanks Aaron. I had called a few places and no one had it.
I was hoping I could just pick it up instead of ordering it.

I got the same same email from the Empire last week.
But then yesterday, I got another one saying it shipped out, so I'll have it Monday. I can't wait. I want to see the extra footage the VHS didn't have. Should be a great disc.

I got this a few days ago, and watched a little of it last night. A buddy and I will watch the whole thing tomorrow.
But my initial impression: Wow. [IMG] I still have the VHS, and the DVD puts it to shame. (As it should.) The video is great, since it was shot on 16mm (correct me if I'm wrong) there is a lot of grain, but that is a GOOD thing. It adds to the atmosphere of the film. The VHS grain was washed out and undefined. If the rest of the disc looks as good as the opening, we'll be in for a real treat.
Sound-wise, I had it in Pro-Logic and it sounded fine. It's not a 5.1 mix, not that I'm complaining, but I asssume Fugazi insisted on keeping the sound the same format as it was for the theatrical release. Put another way, it sounds just fine.
Feature wise, you get a few short films by Jem Cohen, and a few extra live performances from Fugazi. The only quibble I have is the lack of subtitles. There are a few scenes where Ian chews out audience folk, and I never understood what was said on the tape.
I'm glad this made it to DVD, it'll be one of my fave's.
