I got two of these subs from a DIY specialist on this same forum and I need to sell one because two is too much for my ears...and house foundation. Asking $300 for the complete sub (local sale - Northridge/Los Angeles). For the two subs he spent over $900 for the two for just the materials and parts not to mention his research, skills, and labor.

Enclosures are MDF/Baltic birch with Maple. veneer and solid wood facing. about 28Hx14.5Wx16.5D.

The drivers are very high excursion, low distortion, low LE (3.0). with about 2.2L of linear displacement each.

T/S:
xmax=25-27mm each way
Fs=27.92
Re=3.02
Qms=5.81
Qes=.68
Qtc=0.609
Vas=50.1
Mms=215
Bl=14.12
1w1m=84
2.83V=88.2
Le=3mH

From the original maker/seller: "In comparison to AV12, this driver has just slightly less Vd than the AV-12 (rated at 2.3Lea using the correct xmax in the calculation) but they do not have the power handing or linearity of this sub. The AV12 uses a conventional motor and this sub uses a very comparable motor to XBL2 for measurably more linearity. This driver has the extra cooling below the spider. This allows the coil to cool a little better on the upstroke."

Dimensions:
Cutout: 11.13"
Diameter: 12.5" ,Depth 7.3"
4ohm nominal, 3.04 ohm measured w/ DCR.

If you want to audition the sub or pick it up locally (Northridge/Los Angeles) you can email me to arrange an appointment. I have a 350W Rythmik amp to drive the sub but if you have an amp that you want to test it with that is perfectly fine.

Only if you lived next door! I would entertain just a bit more than 270CND though :) If you lived next door you would be shocked at the quality and consider my first asking price of $350 a steal :)

James,

What is the absolute lowest price you are willing to go? Would you consider a trade for a mint X-Box, with 7 games, and three controllers? Either way let me know, you have my number.

Thanks,
Jason

Hey Jason,

Absolute lowest is $300 for the complete sub. The price I paid to get them was already low and $300 is even lower for one. If I accept lower than that I'd be selling something way less than its value if not already.

Regarding the xbox trade...I would go for it but I'm hoping I get this job from a tv gaming channel- i think they might give me a system as a bonus.

Trades + $:
1st preference
NEAR JIB center channel
NEAR 15M II, 10M II
(basically any NEAR speakers).

2nd preference
-GR Research kits, preferably the AV1+
-3MT or 3MTM, enclosures

Stephen,

The $300 price was for the maple finish. Since no one was interested I decided to make them match to my AV-1+ which I'm assembling this week.

I have two of those subs that I finished in mahogany gloss. I would not sell it for $300 after all that work. I don't want to ship it either.

The driver however is a different matter. It is about 40lbs and would consider shipping it if packaging material was paid for and such. It is a prototype for the XBL2 motor like in the Brahma's. I would say that it performs like a brahma but looks like a tumult? It was made in house at destijl (the xbl2 licensed company).

C'est la vie, either way, nice sub. I'm into car audio and those looked like the high end elemental or RE subs. Looks pretty well built.
