Perfect for playing DTS Laser Discs & Dolby Digital DVD's.
This unit also plays CD's/Video CD's/CD-R's.
I'm selling it simply because I rarely find the time to use it. It's a beauty and I know I'll probably regret selling it later own down the road - oh well - I probably will put the funds towards a HDTV set top box.
I have been the only owner of this Pioneer DVL-909 and it is in excellent/mint condition. It Works perfectly - just like the day I purchased it! It was purchased approximately 2.5 years ago - overseas - while I was stationed in Turkey. It is the PAL/NTSC (Changeable via a switch on the back of the unit) version of the DVL-909. Champagne in color (looks beautiful!!!).
I no longer have the original box - but I have all original accessories, cables, remote and owners manual. I will package it up really well and ship with insurance to insure careful delivery.
I will also be throwing in the following LD titles (10):
FORREST GUMP - Opened - Viewed once - excellent condition (THX/Widescreen)
Wedding Bell Blues - SEALED - Stars: Porizkova, Warner, Douglas...(Widescreen)
READY TO WEAR - SEALED - (Widescreen)
CON AIR - SEALED - (THX/Dolby Digital/Widescreen)
THE PALLBEARER - Opened - Viewed once - excellent condition - Stars: Paltrow, Schwimmer, Hershey... (Widescreen)
LEWIS & CLARK & GEORGE - SEALED - Stars: Rose McGowan- (Letterbox)
BATMAN FOREVER - SEALED - (Dolby Digital/Widescreen)
THE SAINT - Opened - Viewed 2-3 times - Good Condition (Dolby Digital/Widescreen)
CADILLAC RANCH - SEALED - Stars: C. Lloyd & Suzy Amis (Widescreen)
RANSOM - SEALED - (Dolby Digital/Widescreen)
One of these (DVL-909 only, no LD's) just sold on Ebay for $442.00 + shipping:
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1324863756

Michael, would you consider $400 total (including shipping)?

I might be interested, if it can play DTS DVDs...

Thanks

There is a mod (supposedly) that will enable this LD/DVD player to output the dts bitstream. It involves replacing resistors on the circuit board. I have this same model LD/DVD player (in black), but I am too chicken to do the mod because I rather enjoy it as my LD/VCD/CD player (already have a Panny RP91 for the DVDs).

Thanks for the bump Patrick!~
Unfortunately, I'm going to hold on to this player for a little while longer. I thought I would have good luck finding a replacement locally...but so far...nothing. I really like this player also :)
I changed my mind on buying a HD set top box also. So, I don't really need the cash right now either. And if I did - I might sell via the ebay route now...as these players have been going for a ton lately (last one I noticed went for $522.53+ shipping! )
So, to sum up, the DVL-909 is no longer for sale.
Thanks for all the interest fellas!
