"Sony Black Screen Technology"
A projection screen that’s not afraid of the light
Front-projection TVs have long been relegated to basements and dedicated home-theater rooms because they require near total darkness to produce a watchable picture. Sony’s Black Screen is a coating that selectively reflects just red, blue and green and absorbs the wavelengths of light that would otherwise wash out the picture, freeing front projectors to be used in any room, even in broad daylight, and still deliver a crisp, high-contrast image. Screens will be available next year.
