Front Left and Right speaker placement? (1 Viewer)

Here's a very simple question about Home Theatre speaker placement. I assume that the ideal placement for front speakers, regardless of bass response (using a sub), in terms of sound directionality, is to place the Left and Right front speakers so that the tweeters are about half way up the TV. If you drew a line between the tweeters, they would cut the tv screen in half vertically. Is this sensible placement? Is a bit higher better? I will have a center channel above the TV.
Front setup will be PSB 4T's and 8C center (speakers have identical drivers)

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but as far as height is concerned.......I think the general concensus is that the tweeters should be at the listeners ear height while at the listening position.

I agree with that. That is how I aim my speakers in my stereo system. I guess what I meant was, if the speakers tweeters are close to the height of the listeners ear level, shouldn't the TV then be placed as best as possible so that the tweeters are midway up the TV screen ? Sounds logical?

Just put the TV where you like to look at it. Some people like it placed lower, some higher. Ideally, midway between the left and right speakers, with your center channel on top.

Sounds about right. New TV stand you see, so I gotta arrange everything. New receiver, speakers and sub to come so I want to set up everything correctly. I'm actually more interested in music, but my system will be for movies too.

Im in the "all tweeters should be at the same height" camp. I even extend this theory to the rears as well.
If you had a choice: the center speaker would be placed BEHIND the center of the screen so voices would come from the screen. But putting the center on top of the TV is what most of us do. You should have legs/feet under the center speaker to angle it down a bit to hit your ears on the same level as the L/R (which are usually lower).

i also concur...
i've always heard that the front three speakers should all be on the same plane, approximately at the height of your listening positioning.
for the back, i think dolby recommends about 2-3 feet above, but i guess this is really personal preference.

It just so happens that the top of my TV is angled down TOWARDS the viewer. I have no specific plans to mount the center speaker. Don't laugh, has anyone used velcro to attach the center speaker to the top of the TV so it does not fall off, especially if the TV top is not flat? My TV is a JVC D series 32" TV. A 32D201. The center channel speaker will be a PSB Image 8C. Yes I could make a box around the TV, but right now its going to be on a really nice simple WIDE stand.
I guess I'll just make sure the front left and right speakers PSB Image 4T's, have the tweeters aimed as close to my ears in the listening position as possible. The 4T's come on stands, well, kinda on stands, they're a tower speaker. At 36" high, the tweeters will be stretching to reach my ears. Right now all this is going in a 12 x 14 foot bedroom! Yeah, it fits, just barely, and thats with a dresser, bookshelf and computer desk! Although placing the rear surrounds are going to be interesting :)
