I couldn't help but notice that the new release of Stir of Echoes has a Lion's Gate Film logo on it. Then I look at the insert inside and notice that most of Artisan's titles are listed in there with now Lion's Gate logos. So my question, did Lion's Gate merge with Artisan or did they buy them out? Man, this would be the third company name! Next thing you know we'll get another Terminator 2 release!

Yup. $160 million in cash plus gobbling up all their debt.

Cool. Thanks for the reply. I didn't know about the debt or the buyout for that matter. So, will we get new Basic Instinct and Total Recall transfers with DTS ES tracks now? [IMG]

I forget off-hand, but I saw it at DVDFile a week or two ago.

    Sincerely,

    John Kilduff...

So, who wants to bet that when HD-DVD rolls around, all the Carolco titles get double, triple, quadruple and quintiple-dipped?

Artisan owned the Republic Pictures catalog so Im assuming that Lion's Gate owns it now. Lets hope for a 16x9 re-release of Freeway and at least any DVD release of Scared Stiff!!
