I still can't believe that universal didn't release this to coincide with all the lord of the rings releases. Any news on the extended version and the 4 hr + documentary? This is my holy grail on DVD...

I finally took the plunge and bought the reissue of the current disc. Figured they would have come up with something more elaborate by now.

Yeah they could have issued a DVD with a cover shot of Michael J. Fox wearing a gold ring, like Anchor Bay did with Bad Taste! That was the worst cross promotion I saw. I kept my fullscreen Image/Magnum laser disc for the orignal art to hang it on my wall.
