I came across a strange occurance and was wondering if anyone else had found this problem.

On the Friends - Season One set, disc 2, first episode (The One with the Blackout) there seems to be very little sound coming from my centre channel...Front left and right have all the dialogue.

I did hear some laughter from the centre channel at certain points in the episode...it's almost like the centre channel was carrying the rear info.

This has not been a problem on any other episodes so far, where the centre channel carries the majority of the dialogue.

Anyone else notice this?

There are oddities with the sound balance on the R2 issues as well. These are too numerous (and generally minor) to merit listing in detail. However, one noticeable thing is the balance on the theme song, From disc to disc (or even episode to episode) the sound mix tends to exaggerate different instruments or is simply very bass-heavy or bass-light. Silly as it sounds, I find this interesting rather than annoying.

A friend of mine bought the set and noticed the audio problem as well. I hadn't read any other complaints about it, so I wondered if it was his machine or the discs themselves...

I have the same problem. I just watched the first episode on disk two the other night. I sure hope this is not a reoccurring problem throughout the set.
Peace Out~:D

The One With The Blackout appeared in the 3rd & 4th 'Best of Set' that came out previously. I noticed that all the episodes in this set, contrary to those in the 1st and 2nd set, had essentially no use of the centre channel, but rather dialog came out of the left and right. Could it be that they used the same (incorrect) audio mix from that box set?

It is odd, since in the 1st and 2nd disc set, the audio is correct, with dialog coming from the centre channel.
