Ross is a loser.
I would love it if Rachel and Joey got together. Then the show wouldnt be so goddamn predictable. Also I would get to see Ross suffer, which I would love. :)

Ross was the serious one then after his breakdown (Some one ate mate sandwich episode) he seems to have gone more like a Joey style Character, and more whinee.

Rick, I was thinking the same thing. Ross is the main reason I stopped watching Friends on a regular basis.

How is this for unpredictable. Rachel loses the baby in one of those "Very Special Episodes" and in her grief finds Joey. Would make great TV, probably through the roof ratings and would let Aniston and LeBlanc show they can do more than comedy.

If they go the "very special episode" route, they'll lose me. Just be funny. Even the "soap opera"-style plot lines (Ross & Rachel, Chandler & Monica) never got too serious and were played for laughs.

My one gripe with "Friends" over the past 2-3 years is how they've practically ruined the character of Ross. They've turned him from an nerdy but endearing guy with heart into an unsympathetic and annoying dork. Occasionally glimpses of the old Ross come through but not nearly enough. David Schwimmer has openly commented on how he is not happy with this direction the writers have taken his character in.

The shame is, you can see how the other five have grown over the years, yet Ross seems to have regressed. Just bad writing, IMO.

did anyone see Schwimmer in Band Of Brothers? I thought he was very good in that series, it proved to me he can act beyond the Ross role...
