Does anyone know the name of the Group/Song that was playing at the close of the finale? It's driving me nuts. I'd thinking it was a 60-70 rock song; and I was going with Jefferson Airplane. (Which seems prett off base for a friends show, so I'll fell silly if I'm wrong.) But in listening to my only disc by them couldn't find a match.

It's on their Surrealistic Pillow album. If you don't have it and want it, go for the remastered gold RCA release; the original release is very harsh.

I was very surprised that this song was used, but I thought it fit very well.

There's actually a very nice new remaster of SURREALISTIC PILLOW (done by Bob Irwin) that improves significantly upon the sound of the gold disc.

It should also be noted that Jorma Kaukonen (along with Tom Constanten, formerly of the Grateful Dead) released an entire album of variations on "Embryonic Journey" several years ago.
