Friend needs suggestions on 3.5" tweeter replacements... (1 Viewer)

Just like the title says, he wants to replace two tweeters in his speakers, 3.5" in size. I directed him over to partsexpress, but as I don't have much familiarity with DIY yet, I'd like some suggestions. he says he wants to stay under/around $30 for both, so that's the pricerange.

It's extremely tough to just drop in some replacement tweeters and expect them to sound good. A well-engineered crossover will tailor itself to best make use of the specific tweeter involved, so if you use a tweeter ill-suited for that crossover, the tweeter will be a detriment to the speaker.

Your best bet is to find out what brand of tweeters were used in those speakers, look in that manufacturer's line of tweeter, and hope for the best.
