    hi guys

the header says it all, i have an open plan kitchen opening into my living room where my home theater system is, the problem is that the fridge is just too loud.

has anybody had this problem? and what have you done about it.

    thanks

Yes. I have the same problem. I thought about building a wall to divide the two rooms. But, I was concerned that it may destroy my sound (very flat bass). My kitchen actually "L"'s with the fridge on the furthest leg from the living area. Next to the fridge is the sink, which overlooks my living room. When I bought the house, the wall was open over the sink, into the living room. I had a custom window built, and placed it in the open area over the sink. This helped quiet the fridge noise into the living room, and it didn't affect my bass.
