    Thx Scott,

Everyone War Of The Worlds is on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!

The LFE is so over cooked (dts) that it's burnt, cajun if you will. I have to say it's the hottest movie i have seen since Assault On Preceint 13. So be careful with this one, i hate touching my settings but to enjoy this movie i had to go from a -4.5 to -12.0 subwoofer level.

Funny that you said that. I have never seen WotW. My dad bought it at lunch and sat down for the first 20-30 minutes. Holy cow! I watched the beginning up to the first scene with the walker rising and shooting the crowd of people.

I cannnot wait til I (or someone else) plots this one.

    It's BASS!

I have only watched the first five chapters. What I like about the soundtrack so far is that it has dynamic range. Not a constant droning. It makes the loud parts really stand out.

More from "kweezr" over at AVS forum.

(Don't pay attention to the 60hz line in the graphs. "kweezr" used a straight connection from sub to sound card. I think there is some ground loop or noise that causes that. Like when you partially touch a sub cable against your sub plate amp. Bbbuuuuzzzzz!)

I just watched/listened WotW AC3 and it was waaaay too overcompressed, no real impact. Perhaps the DTS track fixes that. Too bad that the movie sucks bigtime, won't be rewatching this in a while.

Thx Scott, and others who put these together. WOTW has sick bass in it. It may not be the best movie, but damn it makes for a great demo!

I just tried the DD and I must say that the DTS is indeed a different soundtrack all togheter.Either they had "dumbed" down the DD or "sweetened" the DTS, but they're nothing alike. ALA SPR

I don't like any movies with DD. It is to compressed and you don't get the full fidelity of sound like you do with DTS. I kinda compare it to music that is encoded 128k and compare it to 256k and above...less compression fuller sounding audio.

DD-EX is ok but DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete is where it is at. I do hope War of the Worlds is re-released in DTS-ES 6.1 but I am sure Spielberg and movie companies have some sort of deal like what we are seeing with Blue-ray and HD-DVD wars.

I had a full house in the theater for WotW and it rocked the house! Great demo movie for us bass fanatics!

    Keep the waterfalls flowing!

    Steve.
P.S. Now if I can only figure out how to post a picture...

Wow, that Polar Express one looks very nice. I'd guess there is some serious room pressurization going on with that scene. I was planning on picking it up used, this is only positive reinforcement, lol.

And "WOW" the bass in this one might be up there with WOTW! If anybody has seen this one you know what i'm talking about. I will finish it tomorrow night and i can give chapters and time stamps. So far it looks like its going to be pretty good. [IMG]

    kweezr,

Can I put in a request for a LFE plot of the movie "Sea Biscuit"? Chapter 17, Crazy cone excursion of the horses feet racing around the track! I was watching this movie not expecting any LFE at all and then I was feeling puffs of air when the horse was racing around the track. Well to my surprise it was crazy air coming out of my ports! hahahahaha funny how some movies can creep up on you. That is why I don't run my subs crossover at 80hz, I run them at 40hz. I have 4 10inch woffers to handle the upper range. But tell me what all think. There could be LFE in other parts of the movie but that chapter was when I saying to myself: "Is there a fan on?"

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Still interested, Scott and still following. It's just that these charts pretty much speak for themselves. Not too interested in Emily Rose, but those charts look crazy! I'm pretty sure the purple 4Hz signal in Ch.19 won't be heard on my setup, but that's a pretty nice 15Hz signal in Ch.23 that should be attainable.

Good work on the recent charts.
