My subwoofer is apparently tuned to 17.5hz. And I can't feel anything at all. I can feel most of the bass in the film when it's apparent, but in the scarecrow scene, I don't feel anything at all.

I mean, what kind of subwoofer do you need in order to feel most of the bass in that sequence? I thought my subwoofer was good enough to dig down deep.

So far, my subwoofer has had no problem reproducing bass frequencies that I can feel. Except for this damn scarecrow scene.[IMG]

Just to clarify, I can definitely feel bass in the scene when the scarecrow is taunting batman (and sprays him with that hullicu.....whatever....[IMG]), but I can't feel any bass when the scarecrow is talking.

    Hi-

I finally heard the two chapters of sandstorm in Flight of the Phoenix. This torture test had me on the edge of my seat! Now I want to see what I heard/felt.

    Anyone up for it?

    ...please? [IMG]

    Thanks,

I watched Revenge of the Sith this weekend and I must say that I was not impressed at all. I also watched Land of the Dead and was more impressed with the sound in that movie. Everytime they shot the 'sky flowers' I could feel the concussion blasts in my chest.

Why were you not impressed with the sound in ROTS, Trevor? I have not heard ROTS yet, but almost all sources indicate that it is THE reference disk in picture and sound.

    Perhaps you could explain.

Sound effects wise, it was great. Great steering, ambiance etc. But the bass was lacking IMO. It didn't have the power of the first 2 movies. Not even close.

...I checked a third time and could not find it... Are you sure it's there?

Assuming it's not... any you guys up for charting it?

I just got my copy for demo use in our HT shop, and I tried out the opening space battle sequence. Where is the bass?

I mean, I'm using Tag gear with M&K speakers with an M&K 5000 THX Ultra subwoofer and the subwoofer is positioned directly behind the couch and still there is next to no bass.

What happened? I tried out the scenes where light sabres are involved, and again, no bass to speak of. Although I haven't tried out all the scenes in the film yet, so far this is not a good sign.

Did George Lucas even hear the end result on dvd? What a disappointment.[IMG]

    *sigh*

All quiet on the waterfall front.

Since it may take a while for something along the lines of SPR. What an undertaking that must be! I have a small request.

From Revenge of the Sith. Yeah, I know everyone is talking about there not being any bass (WHAT!?!) so waterfalls are in order.

The two scenes I would like to be charted are small ones. No big battles to request just yet. Actually, the two are both dialog scenes.

First, (forgot the chapter) its when Yoda, Mace, and Obi are in one of those clone-trooper-flying-assault thingies. There is this very low humming or rumbling. It sounds like its in the teens or low twenties.

The next one was later when Yoda encounters Sidious. There is a low rumble or thumping that happens every few seconds.

A chart of these would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I'd love to post waterfall pics of my own findings but it would be great if I can get a hold of the Spectrum Lab color profile you guys are using, for consistency. Thanks.
