So it's 12:30 at night. And I am playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The level where you first meet the undead in the catacombs. The speaker was set high. And when they dead rise it was sudden and loud. Scared the crap out of me! [IMG]

Have you tried Doom 3? Wolfenstein never did it for me in terms of scares, but the start of Doom 3 had a few jumps for me.

Fatal Frame is the scariest game I've played. I played all the Resident Evil games and they don't compare to Fatal Frame. I love watching horror flicks, but Fatal Frame scared the crap out of me so bad, I didn't even get to far in the game :b One day....

Original Unreal where the lights go out.

Original Resident Evil when the dogs jump through the window.

EQ1 as a level 16 wizard scrounging the Eruds Crossing rod for Staff of the Wheel while my buddy kited the level 50+ Sharks away.

    These I will remember forever.

The most freaked out I've ever gotten playing a game was the original System Shock followed in a close second by Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. Both of those games were really disturbing for different reasons.
