Well, after much speculation it seems the Baby Snakes DVD will finally come out Nov 18th. Nothing official on the Zappa site yet, but Amazon is taking pre-orders. So for you Zappa fans, here you go.

The Eagle Vision USA site had it listed for a while, then took it down...probably issues with the ZFT...it'll be out eventually.

It MUST be the long version, not the short version...fingers crossed.

    Yes, yes, yes!

Now, how about a flood of Zappa records/vault releases on DVD-A? Ever since hearing "Halloween", it's what I've been hoping for...

The Vaultmeister at Zappa.Com told me a few months ago that Baby Snakes would be out before Christmas. Everyone should buy it so they will go ahead and produce the complete 1973 Roxy show on DVD (they should add the PBS special of the same time too).

    Oh, I'd buy it regardless.

I kicked myself for years for not 'losing' the 2-VHS set from Blockbuster and paying their fee.

Did Joe Travers say whether or not the Roxy show is even being considered for a future release? I'm hoping for it, but I've heard rumblings that it's not gonna happen.

Awhile ago there was a poll on Zappa.com talking about releasing a complete Roxy as a possibility. I don't have his email anymore, but he indicated they were still working on it. But you know the ZFT. Nothing for a long time and now 3 release in 14 months. Maybe someone knows, but I had heard a rumor that ZFT bought back the rights to 200 Motels from MGM. I have also read that Does Humor Belong In Music will be released in R2 shortly.

I wonder why Baby Snakes was the priority over the Roxy concert?

Oh, and my 200 Motels VHS has gone through hell. My college years, various spillings, and the usual age decay.

Baby Snakes was already put together (except the ZFT were asking people to send in memories and memorabillia for the extra features).

The Roxy Shows were never completely edited together (scenes were used for The Dub Room Special which kicks ass...for those of us that think the 1973 Mothers were the best). They probably need to clean up the film and mix the audio to 5.1. Hopefully we'll see it next year. There was a poll asking if we would rather see it in a theater first. I said no because I'd rather own it sooner than later.

Hey, it took Frank about 20 years to finish Uncle Meat, so I guess they are on schedule. [IMG]
