I'm going to be in the market for a projector in Feb/Mar and I want to start the research now. I've mainly been looking at DLP FPTVs but recently read how the LCDs have gotten better. Whatever I get will get equal usage between XBox (with the HD AV Pack), DVD and DTV (will upgrade to HD).

I've been leaning towards DLP because of the BenQs and the new Infocus 4805 seem to be a big bang for the buck.

The viewing room is in my basement so high output lumens is not that much of a concern. There is ambient light but it can be controlled. High contrast is desired so I can view standard TV and 4:3 DVDs without having to mess with black masking.

Ed, is there a question in there? I agree with the 4805 choice, very popular and great reviews.

Since you watch TV news, play game, ... on PJ. You should also look for PJ that has longest life span bulb
Infocus 4805 is good with 4000hrs eco mode
Infocus 777 is not so good with 1500hrs - unless you have $$ to burn :)
