Well the projector is coming down. We are going back to 38" form 100"

My wife can not take the high pitch noise that comes from the projector. (Its a Dell 2100MP, by the way)

The high pitch noise goes away when the projector is turned off while the fan continues to run. So, either there are 2 fans or something else is making the noise. Does the DPL chip make any noise? maybe the color wheel? I have to figure something out because going back to watching 38" TV is painful now.

I am considering the Optoma EZPRO 753 which had a Db rating of 32. But if the noise is still the same high pitch, it may still be intolerable to some.

Does anyone have any experience with this unit or other Optomas?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Sounds like the color wheel. It is not supposed to make that noise. If you bought it recently, try and exchange it. If less recently, send it in to get it looked at under warranty. Infocus had this same problem with a few of the Screenplay 7200's.
