I'm sure this would be a good place to begin listing our want lists for D-VHS, but here's hoping that these three studios don't limit their D-VHS releases to just action titles.

I'll start it off...

Fox:

- There's Something About Mary
- History of the World Pt. 1

Dreamworks:

- Shrek
- Prince of Egypt

Universal:

- North Shore (please? gimme at least this!)
- Jaws
- American Pie

Artisan:

- Substitute (original, not the sequels)

NO EDGE ENHANCEMENT!!!!!
PRISTINE NEGATIVES!!!!!!
FULL BITRATE DTS 5.1 24/96 or FULL BITRATE DTS-ES DISCRETE 6.1!!!!! on all multichannel surround movies. DTS-ES Discrete 6.1 remixes for all possible releases.
PCM 24/96 STEREO for all 2 channel movies. Do not use overly compressed Dolby Digital 192 kb/sec encoding, please!
NO DUMBING DOWN OF THE SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!!!!!
MASTER QUALITY SOUND!!!!!!!!!
100% OAR!!!!
On HD-DVD, if that ever comes out:
No MPEG-4, overly compressed garbage that's passed off as HDTV.
At least Meridian Lossless Packing (MLP) 7.1 channel discrete surround with at the minimum 24 bit/96 kHz resolution on all channels for the primary audio track. 24 bit/192 kHz would be ideal. The two additional discrete, full bandwidth channels would be for full stereo back surround use. Call it THX Ultra 2 or Logic7 on steroids. A lot of audiophile music producers would love you for it too.
The same as the above too.
I hope you guys pass this along to the DVD Forum.
Dan
