Now that it has been confirmed by Peter Staddon that FOX will be releasing some of their Westerns to DVD in the near future(let's hope that there are some Scope titles among them)it might be time they had a serious look at some of their other highly popular Dramatic and Comedy Cinemascope titles and released them on DVD in Anamorphic Widescreen with Dolby Digital Stereo Sound.

Popular titles such as,

"BENEATH THE 12 MILE REEF"
"THE EGYPTIAN"
"PRINCE VALIANT"
"THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN"
"WOMAN'S WORLD"
"LOVE IS A MANY-SPLENDORED THING"
"A MAN CALLED PETER"
"RAINS OF RANCHIPUR"
"SOLDIER OF FORTUNE"
"UNTAMED"
"VIOLENT SATURDAY"
"ANASTASIA"
"THE REVOLT OF MAMIE STOVER"
"APRIL LOVE"
"BOY ON A DOLPHIN"
"HEAVEN KNOWS, MR.ALLISON"
"THE SUN ALSO RISES"
"WILL SUCCESS SPOIL ROCK HUNTER"
"THE INN OF THE SIXTH HAPPINESS"
"THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK"

So many great all time favorite and popular titles.
I'm positive there would be a good market out there on DVD for most of them.

And most of all, please, please give consideration to some of the all time great and publicly adored, Classic 20th CENTURY FOX MUSICALS.

THE EGYPTIAN would be fantastic on DVD, maybe with an isolated score. I'd also like to add the following to the list:
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH
THE GIRL CAN'T HELP IT
DADDY LONG LEGS
THE INNOCENTS
THE VIRGIN QUEEN
RALLY 'ROUND THE FLAG BOYS
DESK SET

I'm fairly sure that Fox, at the time, released a Cinemascope Short (thinly disguised as a travel featurette) promoting "The Egyptian".
I seem to remember my Brother once owned a faded pink 35mm Scope copy of it.

They could include that, as well as the classic music score.

Sounds good to me!

This posting has just wetted my appetite for a revisit to some of those marvelous old Fox Cinemascope shorts narrated by the great Joe King.
Would there be a place on future discs for them I wonder?

Doug,
Peter Staddon mentioned that "HEAVEN KNOWS, MR. ALLISON " is on the release schedule and "LOVE IS A MANY-SPLENDORED THING" is already released on DVD. Furthermore, Fox is planning to release a series of classic films in the coming year, so some of your titles might already be on the release schedule.
