here are two more titles that so far fox has announced yet on their site. ( but i have the DVDs in hand because of a possible mistake at the store ) these titles are The Robe and the second one is Demetrius and the Gladiators. the cases they come in are the slip covers not the nice ones like pinky and island in the sun were. i'm surprised that Fox has not yet announced these titles. Don,

Don , do you have link for any of this info?
It seems unlikely that Fox would be rereleasing this in jsut three weeks and no one knows about it.

This is confusing. According to the site, those titles are NOT coming out with those covers in the future, they are already out and it says the Robe has been out since 2004.
I love the Robe and Demetrius and would love to get them both with those covers.

John Huston's THE BIBLE. . .in the beginning also has a new slipcase cover with that type of artwork.

Does anyone know if The Bible had a title card for D-150 on screen? The dvd doesn't include it anywhere in the credits.

The current release does not as it appears to be taken from a 35mm print. It's therefore cut and different from the 70mm version. It's a shoddy transfer badly in need of a new addition. The only mention of D150 is in small print on a trailer

I got all three titles this week. Its exactly the same old discs with the same inserts - just in new covers made for an easter promotion with Wal Mart.

So there's no differance in the quality? I had understood that Fox intended to upgrade "The Robe" at some point ...

Fox Does need to Improve the Robe Great Movie but to many specks in it. also i'm hoping the confusion has been fixed. also there is a Love Me Tender dvd out with the cinema classics title on it. anyone know why fox is not updating anything on their site. maybe they should of made a list or numbered these as well. Sae this at Wal-Mart myself last week- I'm not familiar with this film beyond it being the first Cinemascope production released- Is this disc from Wal-Mart worth getting, or is there a better version availlable elsewhere?

    I'll try this again.
THESE ARE NOT NEW RELEASES. This is an easter promortion deal where Fox has provided new COVERS only for wal Mart of the same discs, which, frankly, are pretty good.
This is the THIRD widescreen transfer that The Robe has had over theyears and it has the best picture and sound.
    Same goes for demetrius.

I would like to see FOX release more of their early classic Cinemascope titles such as,
BENEATH THE 12 MILE REEF ( Proper Release )
    UNTAMED
    VIOLENT SATURDAY
    THE TALL MEN
    KING OF THE KHYBER RIFLES
    WOMAN'S WORLD
    THE ADVENTURES OF HAJJI BABA
    BLACK WIDOW
    DESIREE
    THE EGYPTIAN
GARDEN OF EVIL ( Excellent Spanish DVD available )
    HELL AND HIGH WATER
    NEW FACES
    NIGHT PEOPLE
    THE RAINS OF RANCHIPUR
    SEVEN CITIES OF GOLD
    WHITE FEATHER
    SOLDIER OF FORTUNE
    THE RACERS
HOW TO BE VERY VERY POPULAR
    THE LEFT HAND OF GOD
    BOY ON A DOLPHIN
    REVOLT OF MAMIE STOVER

These are all worthy of release.

    Questions for Joe,
I watched WOMAN'S WORLD on TV here in Australia last night and it was only MONO.
Are the U.S. Fox channel showings in Stereo?
Also, is the Island in the Sun DVD in true Stereo?
It also was run here recently and unlike most other Fox Scope films shown here, it was only Mono.

Womans World had one run on fox in widescreen and true stero. I do not have the Island in the Sun disc, but I hear it is a massive improvement over tapes used on fox channels and is true stereo.
