Hi, I owned the 3300 for about 2 years. Great receiver, but used it strictly as a pre/pro. Upgraded to the 3802 for PLII, though both receivers sounded the same through all other formats. Finally upgraded to the Outlaw 950, where I found significant sonic improvement over both the Denons.
I went to a Sony TA-E9000ES pre amp then to a Rotel 1066 pre amp then to a Rotel 1055 receiver (all acting as pre amps to my dual HK PA5800 power amps)
I got my 3300 about a month after they hit the street. I really liked the 3300, but now I use a Rotel 1066 as my pre/pro. I did use the 3300 as a pre/pro to my Rotel 1095 amp, but the 1066 is a nice improvement. My 2 channel listening is much improved(I use the 1066's optical input, like I did with the 3300). I enjoy the DACS in the 1066 much more than I did in the 3300(more detailed).
