I know, VHS sucks, but there is a lot of stuff not available on DVD and long out of print.
Blockbuster is flushing out a lot of their old VHS titles to make room for DVD's. If you're in downtown Pittsburgh, check out the temporary videotape store nextdoor to Wendy's on Fifth Avenue. The first floor is mostly popular titles, but up on the third floor you can find some great older stuff. Prices are 3 for 12 bucks, or $5.99 apiece.

Bob, thanks for the info! I'll be in town on Sunday, so I'll check it out. Are any titles that are letterboxed?

I didn't notice any, but I wasn't specifically looking for letterboxed titles. There were a lot of those "I completely forgot this movie existed" moments. I will have to go back again, there are too many tapes there to look at in one lunch hour!
Tom, I assume you're going to the Steelers game on Sunday?

Thanks, Bob. I went down on my lunch hour. I found a widescreen copy of Herzog's Nosferatu, but the only other wide movie I found was Lawrence of Arabia. They had, what, 300 unopened copies each of Rosemary's Baby and Halloween? Guess somebody overestimated demand.
There's also one of these sell-off centers in Penn Hills in the building next to the Giant Eagle where the upscale hardware store used to be. Far less selection, I'm sure, but also less traffic.
Brett, I just heard Mario won't be playing tomorrow. Bummer. However, for Lindros's sake, Kasparaitis will.

Brett, I know, I know. Ballbuster has very few titles that are letterboxed, but the one in Greensburg (Hempfield Plaza) actually has a decent amount of letterboxed movies in their catalog titles. When I saw that they had them, I couldn't believe it!
Bob, I work at Heinz Field, so yes, I will be at the game on Sunday. Do you work downtown?

The CD Warehouse in Monroeville has a lot of old VHS tapes for sale for about $4 each, I believe. [IMG]

You guys need to get out to Springdale. B & D Records on Pittsburgh Street has quite a collection of videotapes on the second floor, BUT, they uesually get release date, opened dvd, which they sell for $12.99 and less. . .Great people; I've been doing business with them for close to thirty years. As a matter of fact, B & D is one of the prime reasons for my large dvd library - at those prices, who can resist????
