I feel like I'm getting old when I see that press release as a likley attempt to promote a mediocre game by adding some violence and nudity.

3DO + relying on nudity and graphic violence to sell games = horrid game
(Actually, reliance on the sex and violence signals a bad game. Adding 3DO into the mix just makes it worse)

I'm not too optimistic about this one.

So am I missing something with the 3DO disses?

To me the games just sounds more 'realistic' for lack of a better word right now.

I think it ironic that those who relish the thought of a DOA Volleyball with half naked video game goddess would knock a game with an even more 'realistic' device. Hmm.

There's been many a game that has been excelled soley on the merits of it's content (or lack thereof). Lara Croft, DOA 3, GTA 3, just to name a couple. And let's not get on violence, there's a ton of games that revel in the blood and guts aspect of action.

Anyway, not that the nudity would make the game any better, but the rest of the description intrigues me.

I thought that we were all anticipating the day that video games would catch to reality, able to not only entertain but to convey a level of realism.

    Nuff preaching.

I hope this game turns out cool, I like the concept if anything.

3DO has a habit of promising the world and delivering a shack.

How bad is it that 3DO has to preannounce a game over one year in advance of its release? Their stock is trading at a all time low of around 30 cents, down some 95% from a year ago. They recently announced okay earnings, but that was from a quarter in which all their money-making franchise games were released (High Heat, Might & Magic, and a decent Army Man RTS game). I'm keeping my eye on them though, as soon as I see a decent game released, I may buy 10K shares (or equivalent, I think they are doing an 8 to 1 reverse split soon) and see if I can make some big money, but I don't see anything happening for a while.
