Where to watch

I was a little surprised not to see a thread for this film, as I'm certain I've seen mention of it somewhere here on HTF.

I guess that this was originally slated to go direct to Apple TV+, but based on some good test screenings, they put it into the Theatre in conjunction with Sony/Columbia Pictures.

Saw this one last night, and while it tackles some of the same era material as First Man (2018), it approaches it in a very different way, to the extent that the astronauts are actually peripheral characters for much of the film.

Having said that, seeing it on the big screen was definitely worthwhile with the rocket launches/etc.

Fun romantic comedy with some drama addressing the whole conspiracy theory of faking the moon landing (nothing there you can't pick up from the trailer above).

I hadn’t heard of this until I saw the trailer before Garfield and it’s normally the kind of thing right up my alley. The trailer I saw made it look more like a drama with some lighthearted moments rather than a romantic comedy, so I was a little surprised (though not dissuaded) by that information - a movie about space that can be a date movie works for me!

Honestly, it’s the running time that’s made it hard to fit in, and if the worst case scenario is that I instead see it at home with my wife instead of in theaters by myself, I can live with that. 2 1/4 hour runtime minus trailers turns into the movie ending nearly 3 hours after the published showtime and sometimes that’s just hard to make happen.

It definitely makes a good date movie, period piece, enough drama to keep things interesting, enough comedy to get some laughs, and enough romance to keep the date feeling alive. :)

Of the two trailers I saw, the first was what you described, the second leaned more into the romance side of things (which is a smaller part of the story, grand scheme of things). And yes, I came across the trailers similar to you... by absolute chance. Didn't really hear about the film until it was pretty much out (like Land of Bad earlier this year).

The rocket launch scenes were impressive and why I'm glad I saw this on the big screen.

It's basically a very fluffy look at the marketing of NASA and the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. Scarlett should do do these MadMen-esque style of movies going forward. The weak spot in the cast is Channing Tatum, he didn't bring much to the table. Decent date movie if the subject matter is of interest to prospective viewers.
