after I bought a case of this stuff and was on my way home, I thought "why"?
what with 2-3 coats of mud and tape between and on the joints, wouldn't that not be enough?

sheetrock caulking goes on the top and bottom plates before you sheetrock.
it stops sound transmission or so they say!
