I agree with andrew that news stories are always manipulated to fit a story, sometimes more, sometimes less.
I don't know who's right or wrong in this case. Yes, the claims that there was false ammunition used should have been investigated.
I never found that part particularly interesting (like I said before), partly because I assumed that the guy was talking out of his ass and just said that it was false ammo. The interesting part was the way that the media just accepted that there was a need for a rescue and that she had been mistreated, shot and tortured. I still haven't seen anyone disagree that she had been taken care of and that the injuries were caused by the vehicle accident.
And it didn't take a month for the contradictory reports to come out, like I said before I first read it on April 16th.
