    Yes, it's OOP

Try Coconuts and other small chain stores that sell DVDs, might get lucky

I wouldn't pay a lot for it. It's a recycled LD transfer and a miserable one at that. (I assume we're talking about the 1980 film.)

If you can't find a well priced copy, I'd get one of the Image-Hearst Flash Gordon serial DVDs. Space Soldiers and Flash Gordon Conquers The Universe are pretty good...and the DVDs (while bare-bone) are great.

    Hey Y'all,
Just noticed on Amazon UK there is an R2 relatively new (Released last March) DVD that is anamorphic!
What gives, Universal? C'mon! This is a GREAT cheesy 80's flick that alot of people would buy if given a decent release!!!

Universal does not own FLASH GORDON in the UK, that's why. The company releasing the title is Momentum, but I believe the controlling interest is held by MGM -- they have a lot of overseas rights to older DeLaurentiis productions.
But now that this master exists, maybe it will prod Universal to make use of it, provided they're allowed to.

Well, after perusing Ebay, there are a couple of Legal, non-bootleg NTSC Region 0 Brazillian versions. 1 says WS on cover and looks similar to the old Universal US disc, the other is WAY funkier looking. Apparently you can buy some odd legal things from Brazil like Queen Live at Wembley, GVH2 and "Flash" etc... beacause of some weird licensing ltd. time deals to studios.
Be interesting if either "Flash" is any good or anamorphic. Could tide us Region 1 folks over...

I'm hopeful that Flash might be getting a re-release since such Image licensed titles (recently Farenheit 451 and Andromeda Strain) are getting re-released and SE'd. However, that's just my hope. [IMG]
Dont mean to threadcrap, but isnt it amusing that the reason (if I remember correctly) for the Uni/Image fight was about the price structure that Image had for their releases. Funny thing is that most of the releases from Uni duplicate the price structure that Image was pissed about. Farenheit and Andromeda are MSRP $14.95 and can be had online for $9.XX.
