Ok first let me say that i wasn't really sure where to start this thread but its sort of a basic question so ill do it here.

I have two systems in my house the first is a HT:
5.1, HD LCD etc...

the second is a strait up 2ch stereo

ive heard something about setup DVDs and a SPL maybe... SLP somesort of testing apparatus.

what are these things and is there anythnig i can get for the stereo for speaker placement or anything?

Nick: SPL is an abbreviation for "sound pressure level." You need to get a meter to measure this in order to calibrate your audio equipment properly. Go to Radio Shack for one. As for set-up DVDs, the two standards are DIgital Video Essentials from Joe Kane and AVIA from Ovation. Either one will work just fine. JB
