Fixing buzzing from an Xbox.. (1 Viewer)

Now that my Xbox is out of warrentee, how easy would it be to open it up and try to fix some loud buzzing I am getting, sounds like the fan but is fairly loud when there is no sound. Is it hard to pop the outer case open yet? I haven't even looked. I tried a search here but didn't find anything.

Jay, check out the X-Box hardware modding forum over at xbox-scene.com. They have a lot of case modders at the site, and many have dealt with quieting the x-box.

Microsoft put some pretty cheap fans in the xbox. Its pretty easy to swap them out. Check out xbox-scene or do a search for Xbox Hacking. That should return you a ton of sites.
