First projector (1 Viewer)

I'm buying my first projector really soon, and would like to know what you recommend.

I'm looking to spend around $1000, which limits my choices. I'll be using it for watching TV (digital cable) and dvds... The room is pretty big, and bright during the day (it's the only choice I have... none of the other rooms will work) Recommendations?

The Infocus X1 is a highly regarded HT projector. I know it used to retail for $1000, and it may even be less by now. If you haven't already done so, be sure to check out http://www.projectorcentral.com . They make recommendations in every price range, and their opinions are very well respected by the HT community.
