I have a third car garage that I will be turning into a media room. The dimensions are 16'10" x 11'10" with a 9 foot ceiling. I would like to use a Benq DLP projector with a 92" screen, but is this room to small for this setup?

You may end up putting the rear couch against the wall to gain room for viewing distance, but it should work. My HT is 12' x 20' with a 106" screen. My second row seating is 3' from the back wall.
