"Bobby! Your shoes are soaking!"
(Might as well just cancel the upcoming DVD release of TDTESS, and we'll just play out the entire movie right here.)
(On second thought...let's re-think that.) :D

So did anyone ever decide the literal translation of Klaatu Barrada Nikto? Does it mean "Klaatu says don't blow up the Earth"? Or does it mean "Klaatu says his death was voluntary"?

What perfect timing; my Dad's favorite movie to be released a month before his birthday. :)
Now all we need is The Incredible Shrinking Man!

Excellent links, Dave. Interesting theory about Barada Nikto being a preprogrammed "macro" command for Gort.

Post Edited by Administrator - Please, Don't name Retailers that break street dates.
Mine should arrive via UPS tomorrow from my retailer.

This e-tailer is not breaking the street date. I mixed up on my dates. It will arrive from DVD Empire when it is properly due to arrive.

My copy turned up on Saturday.

Not had time for the extras - but the print is as good as any I’ve seen for a black and
white film - certainly as good as my previous favourite Criterion’s The Third Man!
Great menus too!

The disc labels appear to be incorrect though. One label on the first side says
“Fullscreen” - which is the film, and the second side says “widescreen” which is the
extras, which are also fullscreen!

Also THX trailer before the start of the movie is the “Moo” one...

That's curious, Richard, re. the "WS"/"FS" thing. Can't imagine why anything on either side of the disc would be in widescreen. Odd indeed.

Great menus too!
Richard: Are the menus accompanied by any musical cues (i.e.: the fabulously-creepy B. Herrmann opening titles)?
