How about the Prisoner? I did that in a week last year and found the disorienting, conspiracy feeling to be very much like X Files, but in a psychedelic Austin Powers way.

I loved X Files but I stopped my box sets with season 5 and the movie, and quit watching in the last season. maybe I'll go back.

Two for Millenium. BTW strongly consider Dead Zone if you are using X-Files as your measuring stick.

Millenium actually went for 3 seasons, 67 episodes and I would recommend either that or the wonderful Angel, a show that was better than Buffy (a great show itself) in so many ways. Or Stargate
