Yeah.. actually mapquest.com has the arial photo option from GlobeExplorer. I love it. I was able to zoom in on my old apartment in TX and see the swimming pool!

It was actually useful when we were looking for a house. You can plug in the address and actually see if the property is next door to a toxic waste dump or something before you actually drive across town to look at it.

My subdivision doesn't exist yet on the picture I found, and it's about 2 years old now. I wonder how old the pictures are.

Cool nevertheless though, it found the address right away!

Very cool. Found my house, but not too impressed with the photo quality. If I were to buy one of these prints, I hope it is better then what they show on the web site.

i'm not sure if some of the images are more recent than others, but the picture i checked is at least 10 years old.

VERY USEFUL in this regard! When looking for houses, I and several other people I know have used satellite images to make certain the land we were buying had houses or the like surrounding it, and wasn't just vacant and begging for a huge strip mall or the like.

Now that's a trip, literally! Thanks for the link, Scott. I'll have some fun with that! I already pulled up my neighborhood. Wild stuff!

Philip, not all pictures are old. I put in 1 World Trade Center in New York, and you can clearly see ground zero. :frowning: I did this because I noticed that the picture of my office building is old, as it shows the building under construction. The building opened in December 2000. Some views are old, some aren't.
