Find out which version of XBOX you have: (1 Viewer)

Goto settings,scroll down to system info and then it will automatically start scrolling and it will show you which version you have.
2nd version is K:100.4034.01 made 9/10/02
D:100.4034.01
There is also a 3rd version out now.

Anyone have a 3rd Version ? Probally has a date of 12/02
Does anyone know which versions have the new DVD Drives,
the ones that don't get the Dirty Disk Errors.

So what does the D portion of the info represent? My K portion matches what you posted for the second version, but the D portion is different.

What is the Manufacture Date on yours?

The Dvd drives they were having problems were thomson.

Just a guess but the D could be "Drive" and the K could be "Kernel" or basically the software rev. of the OS for the X-box...

Gonna check out mine. Trying to tell MS that there are different versions of the XBox out there and the idiot droids on the line act like it's the first time they've heard it before.

Just call back untill you get someone who knows what you are talking about.
The first guy I talked to was nice but he didnt know and he had to ask someone else twice before he could tell me how to check which version I had. Also ask them about the K and D.
They have used 3 different DVD Drives -Thompson,Samsung and
Phillips. On the xbox.com forum they were complaning about the Thompson drives.

I called tech support (twice already) to try to get them to replace my Xbox, purchased 12/01 since I've heard others getting their's replace. The first guy I talked to was just a plan jerk, the second lady I talked too was nice but got the same response. I told her that I know there are different versions and didn't get any response.. Like talking to a wall!

Just talked to Microsoft 1-800-4myxbox and they said the Latest (newest) Version of XBOX has the Live software already Installed.

Yea, um...I have lint to clean out of my belly button so I'm not sure I'll have the time to check the version of my Xbox.

It appears mine is also a Rev 2 Xbox, I have the same K and D as Ken I. and I recently started to have Dirty Disc problems with EA' FIFA 2003, which I exchanged once already.

Perhaps its the people with the Rev 1 Xbox who are getting free replacements, I'm positive MS can tell what Rev it is by the serial number.

Mine is only 1 week old,No Dirty Disk errors. I think I'll
take mine back and try and find the latest version.
Has anyone had any DDErrors with the latest version of XBOX.
Frys electronics has some dated 12/03.I assume that would be the latest version(with Live Installed) Mine is 9/03.
