After getting out bid on it several times over the last 5 to 10 years.

Anybody remember this Burton / Spielberg cartoon gem?
Any fans around still?

John:

Where's Mary Ann? Where's Mary Ann? Oh...there she is!

But the DOG was here! Weren't you?!

Maybe we need a neeewwwww dog! May Beee we need a CAT!

I have had this on LD for about 9 years now. I still laugh everytime even though I have it practically memorized.

Brad Bird did the Family Dog for Amazing Stories. Also, I have heard that they may be putting the whole series on DVD finally.

Thanks for moving the thread to the correct location.

It does seem there are some fans out there....

I haven't recieved it yet, but haven't seen any of these in over a decade. I am really excited about it.

Some of the laserdisc sets of this go for between $100 and $200 on ebay!!!! I got mine for a reasonable price.

When searching like 6 years ago, I did come across some weirdo Family Dog fan club cached website, that claimed to legitimately sell this on DVD. But the club and the website seemed long defunct. I chalked it all up to BS really, maybe not????

What's with all the Tim Burton talk?

AFAIK it was Brad Bird.

BTW: doesn't the dog trainer remind you now of Edna Mode?

Bad dog! Bad dog! Bad bad bad dog!
I don't know what she's feeding him. Gives him gas.

Yep, The Family Dog was a Brad Bird film. He even talks about it on The Incredibles DVD. He said something along the lines that he hopes the Amazing Stories shows make it to DVD soon.

Speaking of Edna Mode Brad Bird did her voice in The Incredibles.
