Finally got the surround sound work. (1 Viewer)

I finally got my receiver to do surround sound without purchasing anything.

It turns out you have to pesss setup and set the front speakers to small in orger to get surround it was set to large by the previousowner, funny thing is that the sub still produced bass with 2 channel enabled,

That's strange. That should not make a difference what size the fronts are set to. Usually surrounds are set to "none" in the setting mode.

that is very odd that you would have to sret the fronts to small in order to get the surrounds to work.



BTW what kind or receiver do you own?

The sub was probably reproducing the "Low Freqency Effects" even with the speakers set to large. That LFE is the ".1" in your 5.1 With the speakers set to small, the sub should also do the low frequencies that otherwise would go to the speakers.

Are you saying that setting the front speakers to Large defeated the surround speakers? That is odd...
