    Hey all,

I just snagged a single NHT Super One, (Trickier than you think!) to match my other 2 surrounds. I have the Pioneer 1014 amp with DD ex and DTS ex or whatever. (Never needed b4 so don't know precise names..)
I assume the new SE of Titanic should be good with the 6.1 DTS track. Any others? I have the SW flicks, the LOTR extended editions.

    Thanks! d

    Dave,

Troy LaMont has been maintaining this thread for over five years, and is about as comprehensive a list of DD-EX and DTS-ES titles as I've seen.

As you'll soon discover, not every DD-EX or DTS-ES release is flagged as such by your receiver, despite being advertised on the outer packaging. For example, none of the SW prequels I own automatically pop up on my Onkyo as DD-EX tracks, although the OT does. You'll probably need to get acquainted with your receiver's settings to force these tracks into EX/ES mode.

Among those titles that do properly trigger my receiver's EX/ES mode, I like the original DVD release of Gladiator, the new 10th anniversary Toy Story set, Toy Story 2, and Cast Away the best (besides those you already mentioned). Master and Commander isn't flagged as EX/ES, but some HTF members enjoy forcing their receivers to decode it as such.

You'll learn all about the joys and frustrations of being 6.1/7.1-enabled in the thread I linked above. Enjoy.

Agree with Bryan - The first Gladiator is an excellent ES track. Se7en is outstanding ES, and The Haunting as well.

I rarely switch em on for EX, but the discrete rear surround is fun stuff.

    I've got six recommendations:

    Star Wars Ep's I-VI

    Also, give T-2 a shot.

It depends on how good your VSX-1014 is at it, but any good 5.1 surround
track might do fine if it is "upconverted" by Dolby Pro Logic IIx to 6.1/7.1.

I second Gladiator and the LOTR trilogy. Especially the scene in Gladiator just before they enter the ring for the first time. The spiked ball being swung over your head does a complete 360 pan though all speakers.

I third the Gladiator 1st dvd if you can find it but also try Bones and Top Gun. All the Star Wars, I had to make the receiver(Yamaha 1200) activate the back channel. There is a thread going on that lists all the DTS EX movies so check out that thread.
