Well, this sure takes double dipping to a new extreme...

On an impulse buy I bought the 2 Disc Unrated Extended cut of Underworld. It was recently on sale at Best Buy with a bonus disc (previewing Underworld 2) for about 15 bucks. I was sure I had previously bought the regular one disc theatrical release a year or so back.

Well, much to my dismay, it's the exact same release (minus the U-2 Bonus disc).

I cannot take it back because I have already opened it up.

As Homer Simpson would say... D'oh!

Well technically, if it has a bonus disc, it's not really a duplicate.

still has not happened to me. then again I only have about 300 DVDs currently. Maybe if I had 3000 like some here I might do this.

Haven't done it with a DVD yet, but I did buy a dupe CD a few weeks back. Of course, I opened it before I discovered my error. [IMG]

It's happened to me a few times. My first double-dip experience came with getting the "Alien Quadrilogy" set, followed by the single-disc version of "Alien" with the missing audio tracks. This was followed by my double-dipping of the "Matrix" series, both individually and in the box set. Most recently, my wife got me the 3-disc "Gladiator" extended cut for Christmas, though I had gotten the original 2-disc set a few years back. And shortly after Christmas I had picked up the 2-disc "Batman Begins" deluxe set a month after getting the single disc in widescreen format.

There's a method to the madness somewhere... [IMG]
