Well, I want to thank you guys for all your help and share my new PC specs... I am going to start building in late May.

All the equipment is really good. The only exception is the motherboard. The motherboard is not highly regarded by people who know more about it than me. With the exception of the motherbard all the other equipment is top notch. ABIT, ASUS, EPoX, IWILL, MSI, SHUTTLE and SOYO are all good motherboard manufacturers to look at.

Robert, the only problem is that I am running Linux most of the time... and I am worried about using VIA because of it... I'd rather just stick with an SiS mobo that I know will be stable and work with anything I throw at it.

id still shy away from an ECS. you could always go for an AMD chipset...
