Basically, the like of this film seems to be dictated by how much you enjoy Japanese filmmaking. If you like killer CG and the former, you'll like this

Final Fantasy is scheduled for release in Japan on February 22 in both standard and "spiritual" editions. It appears that both will use the same basic disc (film at 106 minutes + 24 minutes of extras) but the 2-disc "spiritual" edition will add more than 2 hours of extras.

    Standard....3800 yen, DD5.1 and dts, ASBY-2083

    Spiritual...9800 yen, DD5.1 and dts, ASBY-2084

Street prices in Japan are generally at 10-15% discount.

Does anyone have the spiritual edition? I am curious as to what Hironobu Sakaguchi talks about in his commentary. If someone could provide some highlights of the commentary, I'd appreciate it.
