Fight Club dvd (1 Viewer)

I have recently recieved Fight Club sku #24543 04479.. the cover shows it as being DD 5.1... and sku 24543 04478 shows in DVD Profiler being Dolby Digital THX EX 6.1 - English.. can someone confirm this for me? I have dvd profiler but the profiles are user submitted and I wanted to ensure I have the wrong version before I return it.

Dolby Digital Surround EX is not discrete, therefore it's 5.1

The differing sku numbers could be for the 1-disc and 2-disc versions. Some studios also use different sku numbers for product intended for particular retailers.

DVD Profiler is the closest you'll find. By DVD Profiler rules, number of channels goes by the mix rather than how it's stored, so dolby surround 2.0 is 3 and Dolby Digital 5.1 EX is 6.1.

I was wrong. Here are the rules.


#1 - The first rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club.

#2 - The second rule of Fight Club is, you DO NOT talk about Fight Club.

#3 - If someone says stop, goes limp, taps out, the fight is over.

#4 - Two guys to a fight.

#5 - One fight at a time.

#6 - No shirts, no shoes.

#7 - Fights will go on as long as they have to.

#8 - If this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight.

Sean, I think it is a repackaging with the second disc discarded (I may be wrong, however).

The 1-disc is simply a re-pack with the second disc discarded. I believe the disc art is slightly different, but shares the same motif. I have the 2-disc and a friend of mine who bought the 1-disc was curious of the differences, so we compared and found there were none.

I don't know if this helps, but I just got a PV copy of the original two-disc Fight Club with the cardboard/digipack packaging and its SKU is 24543-00035.

A blind purchase for me, I got it mainly because of the good things I've heard about the movie/DVD here at the HTF.
Supposedly great transfer/audio?!?!
