JUST KIDDING :D
Actually, Sade, Linda Ronstadt, Ella, and someone most of you have never heard of - Nancy Wilson. Have 8 or so of her cds, usually very restrained and warm. Her heyday was the 1980's but she still records.

Just noticed I said Nancy Wilson - 1980's. Error - Shoulda been 1960's, so as not to confuse fans of Heart :)

k.d. Lang - given the right material (old covers & torch songs) she's pretty hard to beat.
Ella
Jane Monheit - the purest voice in jazz.
I first heard her on Mark O'Conners SACD and really thought she had a great voice. So I bought her live DVD concert and although she is pleasant to look at (read pretty hot) she has the goofiest mannerisms and stage presence I have seen in a long time. I can't even get through watching the whole disc.
Oh well, just a mini rant. She does have a good set of pipes and also does a killer rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow".
I'm just glad it's like the first song on the DVD.
:)

Grace Slick - not all grit as the radio hits suggest. Almost a Hindu tinged harmonic minor at times. Silky. I'd rank PJ Harvey pretty damn close.
I like many others (many mentioned):
P J Harvey
Lisa Gerrard
Richa Sharma
Kelli Ali(ex-Sneaker Pimps)
Sade
Sarah Mclachlan (don't care for her songs, but her voice is like opium)
Alison Krauss
and thankfully someone else mentioned:
Skye Edwards

Most beautiful voice I've heard: Jane Kelly Williams. It's a shame that she only ever released one album. She's also a brilliant songwriter and great guitarrist.
Billie Holiday
My favorites are Maria McKee, who also has a goregeous voice, and Sam Phillips, whose voice sounds dramatically better at 96/24 than at the 44/16 of CD.
Dawn Upshaw is pretty amazing also.

A very good friend of mine, Nancie DeRoss. Most people who have heard her live have commented to me that she has the most incredible voice they have ever heard.
I am a little biased but I think so to!
Here is her website if you want to hear her for yourself.

Don't know if this person has been suggested, but I really like Amanda Marshall. She has an incredible voice. She has produced 3 CDs, and the first self titled one, is her best, IMO.

I also agree with Zen regarding Grace Slick. She is one of my all-time favorite singers.
