You should see no banner ads and the site should be faster. Let me know if you run into any bugs/issues and overall perceived improvement.
Thanks.

I'd be happy to try it out if you're still looking for guinea pigs Dave.

Dave - Dumb question: how do I access the Premium Skin? Is it simply a display preference change or do I need to log in at a different URL?

EDIT: I found it. Never mind. :)

You can all change your theme from the bottom of the page - you are on the Dark theme for now.

Sorry I'm late to the party but happy to look over the new/premium version if you're still looking for testers!

On Macs, go to Accessibility and invert colors and switch to grayscale. :)
The site is significantly faster in premium mode because we can strip out all the advertising code, but the dark theme just suits me better.

I find this site very slow to load pages, it usually takes about 7 to 10 seconds on my pc using Internet Explorer. I'm no computer expert but I'm guessing it's waiting for all the ads to load slowing my pc down. I've never had this problem before here, but for the last few months it's been very slow. I don't read as many posts as I used to because it has become frustrating waiting for pages to load.

Larry, We're actually about to move to a new server to help with these issues. I'll change you to the premium theme as a temporary test to see if things improve.
