I am curious and wanted to start this thread (and others on different channels) as to what some of your favorite shows on Discovery Channel and Discovery Channel HD that you recommend that others see.

MythBusters hands down. That show is great. I also like to catch How It's Made as I'm the kind of curious person that finds that stuff fascinating.

Mythbusters is my favorite right now, but I am watching the new one called DryDock and it is pretty interesting.

If they would just get rid of their onscreen logo, I would watch the channel more often.

Mythbusters, discovery has gone downhill since they started doing all the American Chopper clones.

Also saw Walking with Astronauts a little while ago and I thought that was pretty good, better than most "Walking withs".

Current favorite is Deadliest Catch. Followed by Mythbusters, and American Chopper. I've also been interested by American Hot Rod and Monster Garage. Though I've sort of lost interest in Monster Garage.

Deadliest Catch just amazes me. Who among us would knowingly risk their lives at their jobs? These guys may be macho thrill-seekers, but what they do looks too much like work for me !

Mythbusters, Monster House, Monster Garage, Extreme Engineering (can be interesting at times).

I've liked most of their fakedocumentaries like Walking with Dinosaurs and the Dragon one as well.

Mythbusters is definitely the most entertaining and educational show on Discovery right now, IMO. :D Plus there's that little cutie of a redhead. :b

Parker, I like a lot of the off the wall shows on Discovery HD, such as "Sunrise Earth" that plays nothing but awesome scenery in HD :D And don't even get me started about HDNET's "Nothing But Trailers"!!! no, it is not about mobile homes, just upcoming movie trailers in HD and DD 5.1 :emoji_thumbsup:

Set your fusion to "Record" :emoji_thumbsup:

I already mentioned the few Discovery Channel shows I watch, but now that I see others replies have a question.

Don't you all think that the channel has turned away from "science and nature" and become more of a "building stuff" channel? I mean how many times a day do we need American Chopper?

Here are the future showings:

Isn't it time they started showing some different things?

MythBusters
Deadliest Catch
American Chopper
It Takes a Thief

In that order.

I really thought the MythBusters were going to fly in the last episode. :D

Yes. You can say the same thing about TLC too... that channel has been taken over by home decorating shows.

Wow so many people seem to enjoy American Chopper. I honestly don't see the attraction. Even with new episodes its all stuff we've all seen before. Sometimes I wish these channels would go back to the programming style of several years ago, as that had a lot more interesting shows being broadcast.

Mythbusters, Monster House and I used to watch American Casino but it was moved to the Travel Channel & paired up with World Poker Tour. Still trying to figure out it that is good news, considering how often Discovery bumped it around it's schedule (It's had 3 'night' changes in the last six months).
