Lethal Weapon 2 gets my vote. It's got more brutal action plus Patsy Kensit gettin' nekkid! [IMG]

Lethal Weapon 1. Cause Riggs is totally off his rocker, and suicidal. He takes many chances with his life and doesn't ffear death. Just watch the school sniper scene or jumping off a roof with a jumper. He's wicked.

Lethal Weapon 1 because it's the orginal. Mel Gibson had me convinced that he was crazy. LW4 was also very good. [IMG]

Yep, I'd also go with the original. The others are pretty fun, but the first Lethal Weapon had an edge.

I like 2 best. The characters are already established and the bad guys are real evil. Just a better story IMHO.

The first one is my favorite. I enjoyed 2 & 3 as well, but (IMO) the 4th one falls short (despite Jet Li, who I like a lot).

I'm with Keith on this one, the 2nd one is my favourite, then the 1st. There is real chemistry between Riggs and Murtaugh, in this film... and the South Africans are made out to be real hard cases...

I love all four of them, simply because of the journey Riggs and Murtaug take together. The charactors really grow and evolve, and a feeling of real brotherly love developes between them, it's actually pretty amazing to watch.
I'm most impressed with, of course, Riggs. He is such an absolute mess in the first one. I still kinda shudder when he's sitting alone in his trailer, and puts the ol hollow tip in, polishes up the gun with his shirtsleeve, and stares right down the barrell as Bugs Bunny yells "Merry Christmas!" on the t.v., and then when he doesn't do it and starts crying, it breaks my heart, because it's so real, you really feel like this guy is hurting.
And then he meets Roger and that first glimmer of hope you see in Rigg's eye's is pretty awesome, and by the end you feel like this guys gonna be alright. And then by the 4th one, he's happy and expecting a child! Just a well rounded story with charactors you really love.

One (first) and Two, with little difference.

But I must say, there's something in Four that suddenly catched me - it's the absolute tragedy of Jet Li's character.

Think about it. His goal is morally high: saving his brother. He has to go with no money, no means, no friends or real help. Only one decisive skill, which he uses to the maximum possible to obtain his end. He's all alone in a foreign country, everyone is against him. But he uses his one power and gets so extraordinary far. And then fails.

It's the tragic hero in classic form. And in fact highly admirable (were it not for him being the antagonist to our protagonists).

    I'll go with 2,1,4,3.

4 edges out 3 simply because Jet Li's in it, otherwise its the worst and most sentimentally crass of the 4 Lethals, the whole Chinese family living with the Murtaugh's subplot was cringeworthy.

Only 1 and 2 are superior action movies of this genre.

    1. 2 was fairly good also when I first saw it. 3/4 are both pathetically tired.
